Just bring your hiking boots and go for a walk. We have several hiking routes available and you can also choose to explore the forest together with a guide. In the dark too!
Lake Arenal is great for swimming, fishing and windsurfing or you can cruise the water in a canoe. Want to go rafting ? the river Corobici close to Cañas is the nearest option. While you are there, you can go admire the animals at Las Pumas animal shelter.
National Park Rincon de la Vieja lies north of Liberia. It’s volcanic mudpools are worth a visit and you will smell the sulfur. On the way to Liberia you can stop and visit the beautifull waterfalls of Llanos de Cortes. Feel free to bring your lunch and enjoy.
On your programm offcourse is the Monteverde Cloudforest. If you love forest and trees, this sure is worth a visit. Here you will smell the pure (forest) air while walking on the suspension bridges or through the National Park Sta. Elena Cloudforest Reserve.
The Rio Celeste is a less known National Park but is mainly worth going to in the dry season. It rains less and therefor the river shows it’s turquoise color. While climbing and hiking you will pass the river several times.
Everybody would like to see the Arenal volcano. The only active one in Costa Rica. You will be impressed at his size when hiking at the bottom of the volcano, and hear it rumble too. From Monte Terras you can see the lava come down, if you are lucky.....
